News from Jarit in May 2014

Once finished the workshops, we made two Skype calls with a Senegalese AJSS Association (Association des Jeunes pour la Solidarité et la Sensibilisation). Firstly we introduced ourselves and then talked about the MDG 1, and then about the second MDG2, gender. In the coming months other Skype calls and exchanges are planned.

We have been creating awareness actions and on May 18th, as part of the World Fair Trade Day held in Valencia, we conducted a performance on the distribution of natural resources in the world. Who produces, how are the resources distributed and how do the continents look like in terms of natural resources distribution after the commercial negotiations. The performance was a success. Hundreds of people were able to understand why natural resources are distributed unfairly. All materials used were recycled, cardboard boxes picked up from the local supermarkets to dramatize the natural resources.

TAMAT - Cooperation? As easy as a game!

On Wednesday, April 9th, 2014, at the Capitini Technical High School in Perugia, a meeting will be held between the young participants of a “Comenius” European project and Tamat NGO, which has arranged an afternoon game session with the brand new “Injawara” board game, made to raise awareness about Development Cooperation.

The Italian meeting is organized within the Comenius European project “We all smile in the same language” - Intercultural Dialogue for an Active Citizenship Education (ETHIC), a multilateral partnership based on intercultural dialogue and the acquisition of an Active European Citizenship by the youth. The project involves 10 schools from 9 different European Countries: Italy, Germany, Latvia, Slovenia, Romania, Croatia, Cyprus, Turkey, Poland.

CARDET - Integration policies: Who benefits? The development and use of indicators in integration debates

CARDET is a partner of the project “Integration policies: Who benefits? The development and use of indicators in integration debates” (MIPEX 2015) led by the Barcelona Centre for International Affairs (CIDOB), and the Migration Policy Group (MPG). The project aims to inform and engage key policy actors about how to use indicators to improve integration governance and policy effectiveness.

The main objectives of the project are:

  • To identify and measure integration outcomes, integration policies, and other contextual factors that can impact policy effectiveness;
  • To describe the real and potential beneficiaries of policies in seven key areas, namely employment, education, political participation, access to nationality, family reunification, long-term residence, and anti-discrimination.
  • To collect and analyse high-quality evaluations of integration policy effects.

JARIT - Newsletter March 2014

Jarit is finishing the workshops with youngsters. Very interesting experiences for the young people to approach into the project.

We are sharing ideas with the power team about gadgets, awareness actions, final video, etc…

On the 5th of March we met to carry out a discussion about what does mean politic and also what does mean the educational policies.

We produced a video with all our ideas about these topics to share with other groups in Europe and to create a discussion about the 2MDG: Education for everybody.

Therefore at the end of the video there is a question for you: “How manages your state the educational policies and what do you think about it?

It’s important to know what the state does for the educations, which are the educational policies, what do you think about it and what we can do in our position as society.

EURO-training - Injawara Workshop , "Social Pedagogy"


From 9 to 20 February in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria EURO-training continue with the Injawara running workshops in Faculty of Education in Trakia University with part time students from “Social Pedagogy” specialty.

The workshops are running in the computer lab in the faculty with 3 big groups of students. The main topic is the Millennium Development Goals. The students expressed their big interest and awareness about all topic discussed. They joined to the Injawara facebook and posted some pictures. The students as well found very useful the Forum on the project web page and they registered and performed some discussions, especially connected with the poverty. The stress of the MDG in Bulgaria was discussed as well.

The students were divided in groups and they made presentations about the MDG. The best of them will be uploaded to the Injawara web page in the e-library section after the finishing of the workshops.
